Easy way to check bills

I tried the automated energy bill monitoring service last month. Setting it up was super easy, took like 10 minutes max. It actually found a better deal for my electricity bill pretty quick. I didn't have to do anything much, which was great. Just wish they covered water bills in my area too.

Good idea, decent savings

I signed up for the monthly subscription plan mostly for the electricity bill comparison. The initial setup for my bill analysis service went smoothly enough. It took about a week for them to really get going with finding options, but they did suggest a new plan that saved me about $30 a month, so that's good. I liked getting the energy usage insights too, pretty helpful. My one gripe is that the multi-meter management wasn't as straightforward as I hoped; had a small hiccup there I had to email them about, but customer service responded in a day. Overall, it's a solid service that delivers on its promise of saving money, just a few little things could be streamlined.

My Bill Hero sign up credit didn't apply. Anyone else?

S SnehaGupta 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Mine worked fine. Maybe check if you used a referral code instead? Sometimes those don't stack.

Oh, that makes sense.

Good point. I did use a friend's referral. Might be it.

Yeah, same here. I swore I clicked the link for the sign up bonus but my first bill still showed the full amount.

Having trouble logging into my Bill Hero account. Password reset not working.

H HarishSingh 5 hours ago ✓ Best Answer
Try clearing your browser cache and cookies. That sometimes fixes weird login stuff.

Oh, good idea. Didn't think of that.

I had to use a different email for the reset, my primary one wasn't getting the link for some reason.

Is Bill Hero legit? Saw some ads, seems too good to be true.

D DeepaRao 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Been using it for a year, saved me a fair bit. They do what they say.

I'm curious too. Is it worth the annual fee?

A ArjunKumar 2 weeks ago
Really? How much did you save roughly?

I'm still on the fence. My friend says it's good but I worry about giving them access to my bills.

A ArjunKumar 2 weeks ago
Yeah, data security is my main concern.

S SanjayReddy 2 weeks ago
It's legit. They make money from subscriptions, not from the retailers. That's why they're independent.

That's good to know.

Does Bill Hero really compare *all* energy retailers?

R RajeshKumar 4 days ago ✓ Best Answer
Nah, not 'all'. No one compares literally *every single one*. But they cover the vast majority of the competitive market. Enough to save you money.

I IshaanMalhotra 4 days ago
That's fair. As long as it's a good selection.

P PriyaReddy 4 days ago
I've always found a better deal through them.
1
S SaritaSingh 4 days ago
They compare most of the big ones and a bunch of smaller ones. They say they don't include dodgy ones.

I IshaanMalhotra 4 days ago
Okay, 'most' isn't 'all' though. Just wondering if I'm missing out.

Can you actually cancel Bill Hero any time? Or is it a pain?

V VivekMishra 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
I cancelled my monthly plan last year, it was pretty straightforward through the app. No drama.

R RituSingh 2 weeks ago
Good to hear! Was worried about hidden fees or something.

P PoojaSharma 2 weeks ago
I'm on the annual plan so haven't tried, but their T&Cs say you can cancel before renewal.
7
R RituSingh 2 weeks ago
Yeah, but 'cancel' and 'easy to cancel' can be different things lol.

Is Bill Hero actually any good compared to, like, Energy Made Easy? I've used that before, wondering if this is worth the switch.

T Troy 3 months ago
I found Bill Hero way better. Energy Made Easy is fine for a one-off check but Bill Hero actually monitors your bills and switches you automatically, which is super handy. No more remembering to check every few months.
3
J Julia Romero 3 months ago
Hmm, I think Bill Hero is more about constant monitoring and switching, not just a comparison tool. So if you want something to just set and forget, it's probably better. Energy Made Easy is more DIY.

Does Bill Hero handle the actual switching for you? Or just tell you what to do?

A AnuMalik 12 minutes ago ✓ Best Answer
They handle it. That's the whole point of the automated service. You approve the switch, and they do the paperwork.

S SunilVerma 20 minutes ago

You get a notification and you click to approve it. So you're still in control, but they do the heavy lifting.
